The Cañon City Queen Anne

After four years of work The Cañon City Queen Anne Tea House, 813 Macon Avenue, and Historical Van Tours, owned by Al and Linda Ballard has opened.

“From the time we decided to move to Cañon City we had a plan and that plan was to serve the community with a place of beauty, peace and sense of order. The Tea House has been a dream of my wife, Linda, and it has been my desire to see her dream come true,” Al Ballard.

Afternoon and High (evening) Teas

The Cañon City Queen Anne completed licensing and opened 12/10/07, providing a new option for those who enjoy teas. “Currently we are taking reservations for the Valentine Teas, which will include a special high tea. Also, we are currently open for afternoon and high (evening) teas,” Linda Ballard.

The tea house offers four elegantly decorated rooms, each themed to a historical period in time. The tea house is equipped with a multi-media system which can be used for anniversaries, birthdays, family celebrations, corporate meetings, personal tributes, wedding vow renewals. On site consultation is available.

Afternoon teas are served at 11:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. and High (evening) tea will be served at 6:00 p.m. All meals are served on fine china. The tea house is closed on Sundays.

Afternoon tea includes a lunch sandwich, finger sandwiches, scones, sweets, a variety of teas, at $14.99 per person.

High tea includes an elegant meal (entree choice available upon reservation,) a variety teas and specialty dessert, at $24.99.

Originally designed tea sets, accessories and loose tea are available for customers to enjoy or give to someone special.

Historic Van Tours (No reservations required.)

Cañon City is full of history, from the founding fathers living with native Indians, to the establishment of the territorial prison, to the construction of the Royal Gorge Bridge there is a story on each street corner. Join us for a tour in the comfort of our air conditioned, ADA- equipped van that is outfitted with multi-media/audio/sound system.

Private Tours: call to arrange for a private tour for a family event or when you have guests. Private tours can be arranged by the hour and designed to meet your needs.
Scheduled Tours: join others in pre-planned tours that change each week. Learn the local history and unique facts of the city.

The tours begin May 1, 2008, will depart and return from 813 Macon Avenue, leaving at dusk. Each tour will be approximately thirty to forty-five minutes in length. The tour van is handicap accessible, air conditioned and licensed by the Colorado Public Utilities Commission. Cost for the tour, Adults, $10.00; Seniors (over 65) $9.00; Children (under 12) $7.00.
